Do we really need so many vans on our roads?

Posted by admin on November 26, 2009 under Uncategorized | Be the First to Comment

February 2nd – 8th is, apparently, National Van Week. Quite what this entails I’m not sure – as far as I can tell it’s a great excuse for van manufacturers to unveil their new models and get themselves lots of new customers. For many people, their van is an indespensible part of their everyday life. There is no question of their usefulness and many businesses rely on them daily to transport goods and staff. Consider medium van leasing when making your choice of vehicle.

In these tight times, many small business owners rely on their van more than ever for transport or even as a portable office. Buying is an option, but far more predictable, reliable  and certainly less costly is looking at available van lease deals. You’ll get a modern van but none of the worries of paying upfront, and the chance to upgrade to the latest model every three years.

Even a brand new, environmentally friendly van can still cause problems on the roads. Many would say it’s not unusual to find one blocking the road and vans left parked on small streets and in residential areas is an increasing problem. Those people forget how many of the services they rely on depend on a man in a van.For those who need to use a van in their day to day business life it’s hard to imagine how they’d get by without it.

But for businesses that need to use vans the cost of upkeep and servicing can be a financial worry. It’s hardly surprising that most businesses with a small fleet of vans require drivers to take them home as the cost of hiring somewhere to store them all overnight would be too high. A far more viable option for these businesses would be to look at pick up truck leasing – if manageable monthly payments and always having the latest model wasn’t enough, many deals come with tax and servicing cost thrown in as well.

How to decide on leasing or hiring a van

Posted by admin on November 24, 2009 under Uncategorized | Be the First to Comment

So you have to have a new van? Possibly your business involves transportation of goods, or maybe you are a self-employed trader, where your vehicle is both workshop and corporate advertisment. The process of deciding which van is right for you is more complicated than buying a car! Make sure that before you begin your search for a van, you are certain that you are really going to need one. If it’s just a case personal transport with some gear, then generally speaking estate cars will work out cheaper than vans in terms of fuel economy and operating costs.

Other charges to consider are the potentially higher road tax for most vans and cars, and a heavier congestion charge. But if you are looking for a van, then what would be the best type for you? Are you concerned with the environment, and does this affect the choice that you will make? Do you need a micro van, a 4×4, a pickup van or a large van? Research the options available in your price range and compare specifications. Generally speaking, the larger the van, the larger the engine (some are V8 and V10) and therefore the higher the running costs. You will obtain better fuel economy with the sacrifice of load capacity, but you could win on the easier maintenance necessary for larger vans.

Finally, figure out how you can afford your van: buying or leasing? If you don’t wish to buy, then a van lease is probably the best option. There are a range of different leasing options dependent on the size required, for example: small van leasing or pick up truck leasing. This involves making smaller repayments on a monthly basis, based on the residual value of the vehicle. At the end of the term you simply return the van and walk away, or take out another new van on a fresh leasing agreement. The concept of van leasing is sound, particularly if you enjoy driving a new model every few years and require a lower monthly payment, but you have to travel fixed mileages or it can be counter productive.

The car exterior and interior are the right way to clean.

Posted by admin on November 23, 2009 under Uncategorized | Be the First to Comment

Well it might seem like a metaphor but of course your car will also require a sparkling exterior and also an interior that functions at a high speed, the same as you do! Maintaing car at a speed of 60mph will help it running at a speedy rate.
• Use the gasoline type specified by the car’s user manual. If it calls for high octane, only use high octane.
You wonder how things pile up in the trunk. You should maintain emptiness in the trunk to avail great fuel efficiency.

When it comes to running your car all of that is true. Don’t just think about your engine, as all the other parts of your car need regular maintenance and care as well, such as the upholstery or leather seats or the finish on the vehicle.

The best way to keep the exterior of your car shiny is to first, rinse the dirt and dust off your car. The next step is to lather is up with cleaner. Lathers the body of the car with the foam. Wash it off or hose off the soap from the body next and clean the car. With a soft, clean cloth dry it off with remembrance. If you leave wet spots and water droplets on the body of the car then those will gather dust and you will get a spot when it dries up.

• Once a month you must use the chemicals available to remove bugs and dirt from the body of the car. You can typically find many of these at your local auto supply store to give your car a high polish.

Polishing comes next. Treat your car to a waxing every couple of months. Agreed you may want to just drive in a car wash and get all of these done, but believe me there is nothing better than personal care.

Keep in mind that your tires are always touching the road; so to make sure that your vehicle is secure, you need to keep your tires strong, solid, and constantly taken care of. Cleaning your tires is a must. It’s easier to keep a car clean by preventing dirt, so use proper products.

Special cleaners are produced for specific areas of autos, so use them where needed, like for vinyl or rubber.

To dazzle your neighbors and people who ride around with you, give equal care and attention to both the interior and exterior of your vehicle.

Utilization of proper seat covers is a must. We cannot emphasize this point enough. These are simple to remove for cleaning. First, vacuum the car seats. Next, remove the seat covers and wash them. Once they are dry, you can put them back on the seats.

• Clean the windows with proper cleaners, the dashboard and other attachments carefully using soft cleansers.

Keep the carpets clean by vaccuuming often and using rubber mats yo catch the bulk of the dirt.

Take a break on Sundays to maintain an attractive car look by you. Your car is best stored in a clean garage when not in use, so that the body can be protected from the elements and even dust accumulation.
